Our next networking event is on Friday 12th September 2025 at 10.15am until 11.45am.

Our speaker is Dr Katherine Uher. She will be speaking on Traumatism: The Hidden Wound in Autistic People and will be introducing the concept of traumatism (systemic and repeated invalidation). How this shows up in therapy rooms: e.g. rejection sensitivity, distrust of professionals, masking, people pleasing, chronic apologising. Practical takeaway: How therapists can create micro-moments of safety that rebuild trust.

Dr Katherine Uher is an openly autistic psychotherapist, author, and researcher specialising in complex trauma within the autistic community. She brings both lived experience and clinical expertise to her work, offering a unique perspective on how trauma and neurodivergence intersect. Katherine is the author of the forthcoming book Why So Many Autistic People Have Complex Trauma—and What We Can Do About It (JKP, 2026), and the creator of the Trauma-Informed Support Model (TISM), which challenges deficit-based approaches and centres human dignity. She works with therapists, families, and autistic people to build approaches rooted in empathy, authenticity, and systemic change.
